Prospects occasionally prefer to pay via PayPal or request to pay in multiple payments across different cards, or ask to put down a deposit. This can be done through a PayPal Invoice. It cannot be done on Infusionsoft to avoid premature onboarding.
PayPal invoices create an online order form where your prospect can enter in their card details without a PayPal account.
Add the prospects card details into their Infusionsoft contact. We must have their card on file before issuing a PayPal invoice for their regular subscription payments.
Ask for their email address associated with their PayPal account
Let them know that we will be able to send them a custom invoice inside PayPal, so they can expect this to come through within the next 12 hours or so via email.
Send a Slack to the #sales-support channel with the following details asking for a PayPal invoice. Tag Jamie. He is the only team member who can create these, or will direct you to the correct person for the request.
Client Full Name:
Client Email Address:
Order Item:
Payment Amount:
Any other details…
We will then respond in Slack with the custom link after checking their card is on file.
Note: If you’d like to add a reminder, re-tag Jamie in the existing thread, do not send another request in another chat.
Send the link to the prospect. The lead will also receive an email from PayPal. Ask them to notify you once it is complete. Otherwise, you won’t be aware they have paid and they won’t be onboarded. You can also give them a call and send them a text to let them know it is ready.
Create a task or reminder for yourself to follow up on the invoice.
Once you can see that the invoice is paid (by clicking on the invoice link, and see the balance is paid. Here is an example of a PAID PayPal Invoice: https://www.paypal.com/invoice/p/#5Y2GSHUET7BFGYFX).
This will then need to be processed as an order inside Infusionsoft as usual, steps are below of how this is done.
